Over $1M in taxpayer money to rebuild a private entity? There are plenty better ways our City can spend that money. Please be reasonable and toss this item out. Nostalgia about an ice rink should not come with a bill for city taxpayers. Use that money more wisely. We have bigger fish to fry.

Hello, we are in dire need of an ice skating rink in Sacramento. Iceland is where I grew up skating. It had a profound influence on me as a youngster growing up with the sport, and the experiences I had skating still have a positive effect on me as an adult. Please vote to approve the financial needs to make Iceland a year-round facility. The community will highly benefit in having this outlet for our youth, and families alike sharing in the what the beauty of skating has to offer!

I'm so looking forward to the reopening of Iceland, which has been a North Sacramento tradition for generations. Wholesome fun for neighborhood youth, this is a great opportunity to restore this community asset. Please approve the loan!

I support Iceland skating rink and approving this loan. The ice rink would provide a local rink for children and adults to learn and practice without the need to drive out of the area. The property is historic to the Del Paso Heights neighborhood and having this building in year round use could encourage more business and prosperity in the area.

I have been going to this place since I was a kid. I still kept going even when it was open with no roof. This place reminds me of all the good times I spent with family and friends and would love to keep this place going for my kids to enjoy as much as I do. We need a place like this in the city so all generations can learn and enjoy ice skating and create their own memories.

Sacramento needs a rink in the city limits. I have to drive 30+ minutes to Vacaville or Roseville for public skating and ice hockey recreation leagues. We need Iceland back and we need it to succeed because its a wonderful place to get out of the heat and spent a few hours with friends and family. They’ve really done a great job keeping it alive in the winters this past decade and every time I’ve gone it’s been such a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to see Iceland open again with functioning amenities and a roof. Thank you!

I fully support any funding help the city can give to Iceland. The rink has a long history of being not only a recreational center in our city but also a safe haven for Sacramento youth. My own daughter saw the rink as a home away from home beginning at age 10. The rink is a jewelry in the Del Paso Heights neighborhood, an area of our city that has often not received as much attention as some wealthier neighborhoods. It is past time to get this jewel restored. Your vote in support of this funding measure will make that happen.

Iceland has provided a fun and safe place for kids of all ages. My daughter has grown up skating there and helping out when and where needed. I myself have donated my time there to get it open and improved.

Please support the Approval of Sacramento Iceland Ice Skating Rink Forgivable Loan and Facade Loan Agreements and Amended ARPA North Sacramento Economic Recovery Plan Framework. Iceland has been a family establishment opened in 1940! This has been the longest running business on Del Paso Blvd. While all the other landmarks have either been burned or torn down. Iceland has stood the test of time and needs our help. The theater and bowling lanes are long gone. Iceland is a positive recreational sport for many young kids and the underserved in the close in Sacramento community and beyond. Iceland services skaters from all of the greater Sacramento area, Carmichael, West Sacramento.

Sacramento Iceland is not only a historic icon of the North Sacramento community, it is a vital facility that is widely enjoyed and appreciated by families throughout the region and has been for generations! We urge the Council's support for the loans and agreements that will finish the work to allow Iceland to return to full operation.

    Thank you!

Ensuring that Iceland can re-open and function as a year-round, indoor skating venue will provide a much-needed resource for the Sacramento community. It not only provides a great recreational opportunity for kids, schools, families and the like, but it creates an economic engine for the neighborhood in which it is located by creating jobs and attracting customers who may want to patronize other local restaurants and shops as well.

I'm writing to respectfully urge the Council to support Item #51. I love ice skating recreationally year-round, and reopening Iceland will enable me to skate regularly in the City of Sacramento, rather than driving all the way to Roseville from Midtown. Iceland is an important recreational space for all members of our community, and I would be proud to have my tax dollars support such a worthwhile project. Thank you.
    Sincerely,
    Cassie Mancini
