On behalf of the California State Council of Laborers, representing thousands of hardworking men and women who build and maintain the infrastructure that supports communities across our state, I write to express our strong support for the Airport South Industrial Project under Agenda Item #23.
This project represents a significant investment in Sacramento’s economic growth. It will bring hundreds of good-paying construction jobs during development and create long-term employment opportunities once operational. The Airport South Industrial Project will generate local tax revenue, stimulate small business activity, and strengthen the regional logistics corridor connecting Sacramento to broader state and national markets.
Our members—the men and women of the Laborers’ Union—live, work, and raise families here in Sacramento County. They take pride in building projects that improve the community while adhering to the highest safety and craftsmanship standards. This project offers a prime opportunity to ensure construction is performed by a skilled and trained local workforce operating under strong labor standards.
By utilizing local union labor, this project will provide family-supporting wages and benefits that circulate back into the local economy; create apprenticeship opportunities for the next generation of workers; and maintain high safety and quality standards on site.
Beyond immediate job creation, the Airport South Industrial Project supports Sacramento’s long-term economic development goals. It will diversify the city’s employment base, reduce commute times for local tradespeople, and expand industrial and infrastructure capacity necessary for future investment. This project aligns with Sacramento’s vision for sustainable, inclusive, and job-centered growth.
n closing, we urge the City Council to approve the Airport South Industrial Project. This project represents exactly the kind of smart, job-creating investment Sacramento needs—one that is both economically sound and socially responsible. By ensuring local union workers have the opportunity to build it, we can deliver lasting benefits for working families and for the entire region.
Thank you for your leadership and for your continued support of Sacramento’s working families.
Respectfully,
James Thuerwachter
California State Council of Laborers
I support this Airport South Development Project. It will generate significant local job opportunities, including apprenticeships and skilled-trade training that help build the next generation of future builders and keep the funds in the local community.
Honorable Mayor and Council Members,
I am urging you to vote YES on Airport South,
I fully support the Airport South project and ask the council to approve the project. It will generate significant local job opportunities, including apprenticeships training that help residents build lasting careers. Projects like this strengthen the community by supporting local hire, creating long-term and skilled-trade employment, and serving as an economic driver for a city that needs the investment. Thank you.
I am in support of this project 100%. The development of this land will result in construction jobs, over 5,000 long term jobs and the creation of critical city infrastructure needed to support long term population growth for the city. It seems that there is no land better suited given the proximity to the airport, interstate 5, and neighboring Metro Air Park. Though there is residential on one side of the development it appears that the developer has been mindful of that fact and has incorporated comments from concerned citizens that will adequately buffer their project. Additionally, the design has been carefully crafted to address the same issue and mitigate any potential downsides. I believe this project will be a major win for the city and strongly urge its passage.
Dear City of Sacramento -
I am writing to express my strong support for the Airport South Industrial Annexation project. This project represents a significant opportunity for the Sacramento region to advance economic development, create high-quality jobs, and strengthen our position as a hub for industrial and logistics operations.
The proposed development will stimulate economic growth by attracting new businesses, create employment opportunities contributing to workforce stability, enhance regional competitiveness by improving supply chain efficiency, and support sustainable development as the project includes plans for modern infrastructure and environmental considerations.
As a member of the community, I believe this project is essential for fostering economic resilience in our region. I urge the City of Sacramento to move forward with the annexation and approve this transformative development.
Thank you for your consideration.
I fully support the Airport South Development. This will create more job opportunities for local families, give apprenticeship opportunities for youth and help the city economically.

I am in full support, and strongly encourage the council to support as well. Thank you.
Fully support.
I strongly urge the council to support this project as it will bring badly needed jobs to our community and it will give local workers and vendors both in the short term and long term a chance to prosper in the community's they live in. In short it is IMPERATIVE THIS PROJECT MOVES FORWARD.
I believe that creating more jobs in the city during these challenging times is significant! If we have developers willing to invest in the town, we should take advantage of it.
I am in support of the Airport South Development. This will be an economic driver for the area that will bring both construction and long term jobs to the area. Local folks working close to home. The development is in a perfect location near the airport. The developer has taken substantial steps to make this a thoughtful and responsible development. I respectfully urge council support for this project l.

I urge the council to approve this project. It will bring many jobs to the region, both temporary and long term, at a time when the economy is not what we would like it to be. Progress is inevitable and necessary for the growth of our city.
I am a full support of this project. Not only will it bring an economic boost to the area.It will also give the chance to hundreds of workers to make a living and support their families.I strongly earn the counsel to support this project and move forward with it
I have lived in the Natomas basin for 25 years and watched as development after development eats up precious farm and wildlife habitat. The airport south industrial project is more of the same where there is no need. The metro airpark has hundreds of thousands of unused square footage in empty shells in addition to multiple undeveloped sites presently and the south industrial project would only add to that while at the same time destroying the quality of life for the residential neighborhood next door with excessive noise and air pollution while also exposing the nearby elementary school kids to the same. Natomas needs to work on upkeep of its current infrastructure which is in disrepair (drive along truxel to see) before adding more undesired development.
Honorable Mayor and Council Members,
I am urging you to vote NO on Airport South. I am a homeowner living within 1 mile of the proposed site and an active voter and your constituent.
My wife and I drove all through Metro Air Park yesterday and at least 50% of that development is vacant with for lease signs. The developers and real estate professionals who are stating there is a need for this project is only looking out for their personal and financial interest. The leasing history at Metro Air Park just doesn’t prove there is a need for more warehousing. Plus, there is lots of open space still available at Metro Air Park. Please take the time to drive through Metro Air Park for yourselves and make your own judgement on the need.
Airport South also will negatively affect the local communities with worsening air, noise, and light pollution, extra traffic that the existing Bayou, Powerline, and Del Paso can not handle, removal of open space, removal of precious habitat for endangered species of birds and snakes, as well as lots of other environmental concerns.
Bullish an enormous project so close to a school and established residential communities is not what North Natomas needs. Sure, the city would get a temporary boost in construction but the long time residents and your constituents will be the ones who are permanently harmed. Please protect your constituents and vote no.
