I just applied for and qualified for the Administrative Technician Classification and received the #1 ranking. Although I do not possess a valid driver's license, many of these job announcements stated that I may be required to have one, not that I would be required to have one. After receiving my #1 ranking and citing it publicly, the language changed to something along the lines of, 'applicants with a physical disability may be considered on a case by case basis.' Is that the city asking me to claim a disability I don't have? And why is this unnecessary and recently updated requirement being used to exclude me from consideration?
