We would like to coordinate the contacts we have at Sacramento Republic and other businesses willing to fund street style soccer courts (futsal) to work with City Park Officials. City Parks need to adapt to a shifting demographic that is diverse and soccer loving. The number 1 sport worldwide is played by Sacramento community members. City planning of parks accounted for softball, baseball, basketball, tennis, etc but has not planned accordingly for soccer. District 1 has the highest density of parks in the city but few safe places to play soccer. We need lighted fields that are grass, turf, sand, and/or sports court in the planning of current and future parks. There are many companies and sponsors that can help fund new builds and resurface little used blacktop or tennis courts into safe places to play soccer. We appreciate our beautiful city and beautiful parks. Now more than ever we need outdoor places to exercise and play soccer. Thanks for your time.
