    Chair and Commissioners,

I respectfully ask the Youth Commission to call up and publicly discuss the proposed Title 17 cannabis zoning changes. Removing protections for youth-serving spaces, parks, churches, residential mixed-use areas, and other sensitive uses puts vulnerable youth and families at risk.

Recent violent incidents tied to cannabis robberies, including a robbery that turned deadly involving a dispensary security guard, highlight the ongoing public health and safety concerns surrounding these businesses. Increased impaired driving and concentrated cannabis activity near youth spaces should not be ignored. See news link below!

Please use your voices to stand up for Sacramento’s children, teens, and families. These protections matter, and your leadership can make a difference.

    Thank you.
