• South Sacramento is already one of the most resource-strained areas in this city — fewer grocery stores, fewer healthcare facilities, long-vacant and blighted lots, busted roadways, and decades of underinvestment.
• This is not about attacking people experiencing homelessness. They deserve real solutions. What we are seeing, however, is the continued concentration of homeless facilities in the same neighborhoods — while more economically and politically powerful areas are spared.
• Billions of dollars have been directed statewide to address homelessness. Audits have revealed serious concerns about accountability, tracking, and measurable outcomes.
• Before placing three more sites in South Sacramento, the public deserves answers:
o Where are the resources to upgrade existing facilities?
o Where is the funding to sustain and support the current and future population?
o Where is the financial transparency?
• Equity does not mean clustering services where land is cheapest and political resistance is lowest. Equity means shared responsibility across every district in this city.
• If South Sacramento is expected to carry additional impact, then show us the equivalent sites in more affluent neighborhoods.
Show us the infrastructure investment.
Show us the measurable plan.
• We are not asking to be excluded. We are demanding fairness.
