We are a sanctuary city it is time to act like it.

Please take affirmative action to ensure the City of Sacramento’s full non-cooperation with federal immigration enforcement and transform our values as a sanctuary city into tangible safety for our communities.

Dear Law and Leg Committee -

I write to urge you to pass this proposal. To ensure the proposal is meaningful and effective, it must include a clear, timely (urgent), and enforceable timeline.

To upload the values of this city, the following steps are necessary to take:

    1) Strengthen this proposal, or otherwise support an ordinance that establishes a data sanctuary policy as already implemented by places like Los Angeles, Santa Clara County, and Alameda County to ensure that all resources managed by contractors for the city comply with this vision.

    2) Close the loophole of Sacramento Police Department participation in joint task forces to ensure that no city resources are shared with any federal agencies engaged in immigration enforcement - this includes data, surveillance footages, or assisting federal agencies in taking (detaining) our community.

Keep our community members safe while they/we are leading our days, including being able to live at home peacefully (instead of being worried that federal agents will come to our doors), go to work, continue our careers without looking over our shoulders, raise our families, truly make our schools a safe place for our children to grow and be the leaders they are meant to be, go to the hospital to maintain our mental and phsyical health.

Please take affirmative action to ensure the City of Sacramento’s full non-cooperation with federal immigration enforcement and transform our values as a sanctuary city into tangible safety for our communities.
