As a constituent of the City of Sacramento and State worker being forced to comply with a 4 day in person work week at my Department’s downtown office, I am writing to strongly opposing the approval of this Parking Fee increase! The City’s justification for the proposed parking fee does not address the economic impact on State workers who are being forced to supplement the City’s $44 million dollar deficit through what amounts to an unfair tax! The proposed fee increase will cause daily parking at metered spots to go from approx $27/day to $36/day or approximately $575/mo for street parking just to go to work! In the current terrible economy that is too large of an economic burden to place on people that mostly make less than $36/hr! $575 per month for street parking represents more than 10% of my take home pay after taxes! The City of Sacramento already approved a substantial parking fee increase in FY23/24 so this sudden and substantial increase in FY25/26 is unfair! Please vote no and do not put this unfair burden on State Workers! We have very little choice about the Governor’s political motivated return to office policy and this Parking fee increase just adds insult to the injury! Please vote NO and work to find a more equitable and affordable solution to the City’s deficit problem.
    Thank you for your consideration.
    Sincerely Carla Bohon
