When and where has there been public discussion about such an undertaking? The assumption on the part of Mayor Steinberg, who will be gone in a month, and Mr. Chan, whose contract is still in flux, is that this is a good deal for Sacramento. Shall they continue to run Sacramento, even after they are gone? Why not let the new mayor and council members weigh in on this, and while doing so, conduct an audit of the E.I.F.D. and determine whether it can absorb more financing debt (doubtful). Also, take the time to find out what citizens of Sacramento really need and want, rather than another sports team with tickets unaffordable to the average resident.
I support this tremendous opportunity for the city and the region’s predominant indigenous tribe to build a cornerstone in, what can be a transformational district of walkability and community.
