I live in Curtis Park because my neighborhood realizes the value of our strong tree canopy in sustaining our health and welfare. As a matter of fact, people who bought original homes in Curtis Park paid a premium for a home with an existing tree on the property. The agreement between the city and Petrovich Development requires the preservation of the native oak that is the subject of this appeal. Nothing has changed since Urban Forestry originally inspected the tree and requested it's preservation. Even the 2023 New Years storms did not severely damage this oak. Since Sacramento lost so many trees during those storms the city should be doing all it can to preserve trees that survived. There is apparently no reason for the tree to be cut down. I request that you uphold the appeal and preserve this tree.
