My name is Benjamin Cadranel. I am corporate attorney of 12 years and fundraiser. My past work includes Director of Development positions at Woodland Community College and COSMOS (the California State Summer School for Math and Science), a UC wide, legislatively funded program. Currently, I am the managing partner of the NextGen Grant Funding division at Portola Valley Partners, a venture capital firm in the region. Having raised millions of dollars in public and private deals, I have a unique perspective on the needs of the government and industry.
Today I write in support of Sacramento's Creative Economy and I urge this Advisory Committee and the Council to take bold action, beyond the current allocation, on creativity in Sacramento. Creativity, a product Sacramento diversity, is the foundation of innovation in industry and resilience in our community. Investing in the creative economy plan means a clear investment in Sacramento's youth and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
