This will be great during California’s rolling blackouts that occur literally every year. Can’t wait to have no lights, freezing cold water, and no way to cook. Great thinking!

Not that council will actually listen to how the public feels about this topic... I strongly oppose the requirement for all electric. The technology is not efficient yet and will be yet another obstacle for the construction industry.

I live in the Bay Area and electric is definitely not ideal considering how many power outages we go through each year. We went through the fire power outage last year and the outage this year In our neighborhood. Having a gas stove top and gas fireplace was amazing for our baby 😅

Please, DO NOT do this!! When we recently had the power outage in our neighborhood, the only thing keeping us warm in our house was our gas fireplace. The only way we were able to cook was using our gas stove.

I strongly support the proposed building electrification ordinance. I believe that electrification is necessary to address the climate crisis.

I really like my gas stove, and it is a comfort to me to have options for cooking if my electricity goes out. I am opposed to making all electric mandatory as opposed to by choice. My house has a bunch of fluorescent lightbulbs in it which was mandatory in 2008 when it was built, but is now outdated technology! Give me the freedom to make choices that align with my priorities!
