I support removing density as a regulatory standard in the General Plan, and moving to a Floor Area Ratio (FAR) based intensity approach. With the housing crisis in full swing, this amendment will open up the possibility of creating more types of housing to fit diverse households of the 21st century. I support the approval of the entire land use element as it not only creates more flexibility to meet the challenges laid out in the 2040 General Plan update but also simplicity with the reduction of land use designations.
