Building the Two Rivers Trail project would allow me a 90% car free bike commute. But this is not the time to pave near the river. Prior to paving the first section of the trail, there were no homeless camps. The week the project was complete, camps began to form. Union Pacific built a fence to prevent camps under its trestle. Today, there are established camps with multiple tents and trash within 100 meters of the end of the pavement. Pavement spreads the epidemic of homeless camping adjacent to the river. Until the city has a process for preventing camping on the Parkway and near the river, this trail should not be built or we risk destruction and filth on a yet another section of the river. This video demonstrates what will happen should this trail be built.

I look forward to the day when I can support this project.
