Sacramento Homeless Organizing Committee opposes the lawsuit the City filed against the individual in the Broadway WX area. The individuals deserve due process and should not be excluded because the board members of the BID say they are annoying. If there were real crimes being committed we have laws for that. Another option would be to try to find housing for them

I am writing to you to voice my opposition toward the recent lawsuit banning 7 individuals from a specific area of town. Attempting to ban these individuals from an area for their behaviors (several of these individuals have been identified as homeless), sets a dangerous precedent that might be used to force others from specific areas of town. If the individuals have engaged in illegal behaviors, they should be charged and given due process and the right to a fair trial. Banning these individuals from the area in this way puts civil liberties at risk. I urge you not to take this action.
