18. Ordinance Amendment: Chapter 5.18 and Chapter 10.76 of the Sacramento City Code Regulating Shared-Rideable Businesses and Operations (Noticed 03/01/2019 & 03/06/2019; Passed for Publication 03/05/2019; Published 03/08/2019) File ID: 2019-00266
I'm concerned that the fees you are imposing are excessive. The city, as noted in the staff report is encouraging residents to not drive, yet you are raising fees on affordable options to not driving. I understand you need to re-coup the costs of installing bike racks and other infrastructure, but it seems like you are trying to get a pound of flesh out of Uber, who is just going to pass those costs onto riders. Specifically, the parking revenue loss fee. How many meters are you really taking out of commission? And if the city has these goals, it should find a way to pay for this without raising fees on the bike/scooter users. Maybe you should raise parking meter fees to encourage people to bike!
