15. Ordinance Amending Section 17.604.720 of the Sacramento City Code relating to Implementation of the Mills Act and Establishment of Fees to Administer the Mills Act Program (M18-010) [Passed for Publication 07/24/2018; Published 07/27/2018; Noticed 08/03/2018 & 08/09/2018] File ID: 2018-01098
The Board of Directors of Preservation Sacramento enthusiastically supports implementation of the Mills Act in Sacramento. The Mills Act will provide a useful incentive to encourage rehabilitation of historic properties. Adopting the proposed ordinance changes meets the City of Sacramento’s goals for preservation of historic and cultural resources, sustainability, adaptive reuse, and the project goals of the Central City Specific Plan, as it will facilitate the identification, listing, and rehabilitation of historic properties. As the city of Sacramento continues survey of historic resources throughout the rest of the city of Sacramento, this program will find greater utility for owners of historic properties throughout the city of Sacramento.
