We have laws prohibiting public use of nicotine - why would the city of Sacramento consider allowing Cannabis use in a public area? Public use of Cannabis can be a serious nuisance for neighbors with allergies. Cannabis smoke can cause rashes, fatigue, irritability, headache, congestion, sneezing and breathing difficulties. In addition - the city of Sacamento and PD have no convenient and thorough way to measure stoned driving,
It is one thing to inundate areas with cultivation, retail etc - it is quite another thing to allow smoking of a schedule 2 substance in a public venue near neighbors. This is not necessary. Thanks
I urge city council members to oppose the request from High Times for the City’s one-time authorization to hold the Cannabis Cup event on May 4th and 5th of 2018 at the Cal Expo facilities, located at 16000 Exposition Boulevard in Sacramento, California because of the danger to the surrounding public that would be caused by drivers high on MJ. There are not sufficient City law enforcement officers to police the streets near Cal Expo and to cite driver under the influence.
