    But,

My heart is also heavy for 84 other brothers and sisters that lost their lives to infant sleep related deaths.

My heart is also heavy for 42 other brothers and sisters that lost their lives to child abuse and neglect homicides.

My heart is also heavy for our 39 other brothers and sisters that lost their lives to third-party homicide.

And my heart is still heavier for our 227 other brothers and sisters that didn’t even get a chance to begin their lives due to perinatal deaths.

Three hundred and nighty-two (392) Black brothers and sisters have lost their lives to infant sleep related deaths, perinatal conditions, child abuse and neglect homicides, and third-party homicide combined with another eight hundred and twenty-seven (827) brothers and sisters representing all ethnic backgrounds have lost their lives as well.

Totaling a loss of 1,219 lives.

Stephon Clark got exactly what he deserved. When police order you to "stop and show me your hands" that is exactly what you do. Stephon Clark thought he was above the law. The officers saw he had something in his hand. The officers did not know what it was. The officers had every legitimate right to fear he had a gun and would shoot them. Stephon Clark died because he chose not to listen and obey officers who he knew had guns drawn. Stephon Clark would be alive today if he had stopped immediately and dropped what was in his hand. As usual, the blacks support a criminal who broke the law and failed to obey law enforcement officers. When an officer has their gun in their hand, they are concerned for their life or the life of someone else. They are on edge and someone is likely to get shot, therefore, regardless of race, you do exactly what the officer says to avoid getting shot. Settle it later in court. Blacks are not above the law!!

The passing of Stephon Clark was absolutely unnecessary & injustice. Officers of Sacramento PD took his life after assuming he was indulging in criminal acts. With zero intentions of questions or holding the accused, they instantly drew their weapons while helicopter responders directed them to the backyard of Mr. Clark. Can Sacramento be the time of great change in America? Can those two men who murdered a man in his backyard come out & publicly say they committed a crime ? Can the Sacramento police department take ownership & accountability of all the pervious wrongdoings to their city? Can we plan together for a solution? Mayor & City Council, please lets be the model & inspiration for other cities & countries to follow. We as a community can not change in ways a system is allowing crimes by officials & privileged individuals. The result will forever be a fight. As you seen the marches around the United States, we are done fighting each other as a nation. Are you done fighting us?

I believe that Sac PD does not have a 'Foot Pursuit' policy (General Order) - if there were such a policy, it may provide increased protection to the Community and enhance Officer Safety.

Attached is a Study and samples related to 'Foot Pursuits'.

The conclusions of the study should be of interest.

I'm concerned that Sacramento Police would fire on Stephon Clark. It's not okay to shoot. Our police officers should be trained to protect our population, not shoot them. There needs to be methods in place to keep officers from using lethal force. And there needs to be training so that police officers know that non-violent crimes are not excuses for police to invade private property and use lethal force against anyone. There are other ways of dealing with non-violent crime than pursuing suspects in the way the police did here. At some point, the police need to take a step back and think. Broken windows are not a good reason to pursue anyone. And not a good reason to kill a man.

Stephon Clark deserves justice. He didn't deserve to die.

Our police need to be held to a higher standard. If they cannot responsibly use their firearms, then less-lethal weapons need to be issued to them.

The killing of Stephon Clark by Sac LEOs is without excuse. Clark was killed within seconds of encountering the officers. He fled because unidentified men approached him, shouting, and blinding him with a flashlight. Despite having no weapon, he was shot not once but twenty times. Despite being shot 20 times and lying motionless on the ground, he was not rendered medical aid. The officers muted their microphones to prevent the generation of a public record of their conversation in the following minutes. They interviewed Clark's family just feet away from his body without informing them that they had just killed their loved one. This matter cannot be handled through internal investigation and review alone, but must be turned over to a totally independent commission. The officers should be prosecuted for taking his life. If their actions are not found to conflict with city policy, the city policy must be reformed. This must not lead to more funding for SacPD as past incidents have done.

It is a shame that he is dead but lets not forget that he was out at 930pm committing crime. The fault is not the police, The fault is these kids are not raised right. It starts at home. If these kids had been raised right and had god in their lives we'd have a much better community. I watched on the news a young man telling a driver to say his name, and another jumping on the hood of someone's car. I am surprised someone was not hurt. I can only imagine what could have happened. I am also disappointed in the Kings and the news using the word. Executed him. Its inflammatory and adds fuel to an already tense situation. I suggest the city show a video called, Why police sometimes shoot unarmed people. In the video it shows a man reach into a car or pocket an pull out a object. The police have a very limited time to react.

The reaction of our police in murdering unarmed Stephon Clark, is unacceptable and the DA needs to charge this officer with HIS crime now. laws to make it a felony to turn a bodycam off during a shift, loss of job by not following this critical regulation and protection for citizens are other steps that MUST be taken. I am a white woman, mother, and licensed social worker working in mental health, and my trust of being protected by the police is eroded at this point. I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE POLICE ANY LONGER. DO SOMETHING to work to change my opinion, rebuilt the community trust, and be a model for the nation in how to respond to a tragedy like this. I'm ashamed of our "peace officers", and disgusted that our community is part of this national alarming trend. #notsacramentoproud
