Dear Mayor and City Council Representatives of the City of Sacramento,
I was flabbergasted at the cost of the shelter each month. Thank goodness Council woman Ashby and Council Man Carr spoke up about the serious problems facing the triage shelter because the mayor was on roll touting how wonderful everything was going along. Also the disrespect by him interrupting a community member speaking about crime in the neighborhood was unforgivable.
If the city council is intent on following through with this Extension Options, many in the community have decided that we will have to take some type of legal actions to have our wants recognized and implemented.
Looking at the projected figure for the shelter throws money at a problem that at its roots involves issues deeper than lack of money. Don't waste anymore money and let the Triage Shelter close on March 31 as the Mayor promise the community he would before he reneged on the promise last month.
